Join the Friends of Independence Society

The Friends of Independence Society is a membership based program offered by Independent
Living, Inc. The membership is designed for donors who pledge to contribute $1,000 or more in
one year, for five years. Our members are passionate advocates for breaking down barriers and
promoting equal rights and access for people with disabilities.

As Friends of Independence Society Members, these donors have access to exclusive benefits
and opportunities, such as invitations to special events, recognition on Independent Living’s
website and publications, and opportunities to network with other like-minded disability rights
champions and philanthropists.

The membership is meant to foster a sense of community and shared values among individuals
and organizations who are committed to promoting the rights and independence of people with
disabilities. Through their support, Friends of Independence Society Members help Independent
Living, Inc. shape disability rights and provide essential programs and services to people with
disabilities.

Members of Independent Living’s Friends of Independence Society are supporters with whom
people with disabilities can rely on for companionship, advocacy and empowerment. Friends
accept us for who we are, without judgment or criticism, and are willing to help us grow and
develop.
