Who Is Eligible?

Individuals with a disability AND who are homeless as defined by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). HUD defines people who are homeless as:

Individuals who are at an emergency shelter.

People in Transitional Housing for homeless persons who originally came from the streets or an emergency shelter.

Individuals who reside in places not meant for habitation such as cars, parks, abandoned buildings, or on the street.

Participants accepted to Project Independence will receive a rental subsidy for permanent housing and case management services through Independent Living, Inc.
