Mental Health Services

lOur commitment to persons with psychiatric disabilities began in 1987 when our doors first opened. Today, we offer a wide range of services many of which are provided by individuals who are themselves either current or former service recipients.

Peer Advocacy

  • Providing peer assistance with housing, health care, education, employment, social and recreational opportunities and other issues linked with overcoming stigma and transitioning from system dependence to independence.
  • Ensuring that all individuals with psychiatric disabilities have the opportunity to fully participate in community life.

Bridger Services

  • Helping individuals with psychiatric disabilities to build and rebuild supportive community linkages following discharge from hospitals, jails and other facilities.
  • Ensuring that the transition to independence is supported as necessary to enable each individual to meet his or her self-determined goals.
  • Offering places to go, things to do and someone to do them with.

Self-Help Services

  • Facilitating participation in Double Trouble in Recovery (DTR) and other self-help meetings throughout Orange County.
  • Facilitating personal empowerment by providing the tools and technical support to enable consumers to organize groups and conduct meetings.
  • Providing training in Wellness and Recovery Action Planning (WRAP)

Case Management (at the Cornerstone Residence)

  • Offering a holistic, person-centered approach to facilitating connections with provider agencies and community amenities, as well as the attainment  of  personal goals.
  • Providing novel supports that help to ensure long-term residential stability, personal recovery, and  health and general well-being.

The Community Partnership (MICA) @ 72 Broadway, Newburgh

  • Aiding in the prevention of homelessness for persons having co-occurring psychiatric and addictive disabilities.
  • Offering wrap-around support, including core independent living services, in neighborhoods and communities having the greatest need.
