Independent Living, Inc. to offer fall session of American Sign Language

MIDDLETOWN, NY Interested in learning a new language? Independent Living, Inc. will offer another fall session of American Sign Language (ASL) classes for anyone interested in interacting with those who use sign language as their main form of communication either for professional or personal purposes.

Class will be held every Thursday starting September 8th, for 10 weeks, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at our Middletown Independent Living Center located at 441 E. Main Street, Middletown, NY. The instructor is Vernon Bonse, MA, coordinator of Deaf and Hard of Hearing services at Independent Living, Inc. Participants will learn beginning sign vocabulary and basic understanding of Deaf Culture and how to interact effectively with people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Start your journey towards learning ASL and open the door to a whole new world.
