Janae Myers is a marketing and development professional with more than a decade of business development experience. She currently serves as the Chief Advancement Officer for Independent Living, Inc. and Independent Home Care, Inc., two organizations dedicated to advocacy and service for people with disabilities.

As the Chief Advancement Officer and a member of the Executive Team, Janae is the lead fundraiser, strategist and ambassador responsible for shaping the trajectory of both organizations through the development and expansion of programs and services, strategic leadership, and community engagement. Janae oversees marketing, advertising, public relations, social media, events, grant development and individual fundraising. Janae is focused on amplifying community impact by building strategic partnerships, cultivating donors, and being a catalyst for systems policy changes.

Janae joined Independent Living, Inc. in an administrative capacity in 2021, transitioning into the role of Chief Advancement Officer in 2022. She received her Master’s Degree in Integrated Marketing and Communication and Bachelor’s in Public Relations from Marist College. Prior to her time with Independent Living, Inc., and in addition to her marketing and development background, Janae devoted five years to a law enforcement career. Sustaining injuries that ended her career, she found herself seeking a space in which she could use her diverse skill set and a job with a purpose she could feel passionate about.
